Ruby’s Kitchen serves up coffee, juice and grub near Shore Lodge

After the Alpine Pantry closed in McCall on the towns west side near Shore Lodge, it left a void for the breakfast and lunch crowd who wanted to venture off the resort property.

Just before Thanksgiving of last year, Ruby’s Kitchen filled the need – opening in the same building as the Pantry across from Rotary Park. Owned by Misty and Chris Braden, and named for their daughter Ruby, the new restaurant is open 6:30am-4:00pm each day.

The small eatery features coffee selections, as well as a variety of lunch and breakfast options. In the summer, seating is available outdoors on picnic tables along Idaho 55.

A small convenience store rounds out the space, much like it did for Alpine Pantry, with a focus on locally-sourced items. The store features a line of cold pressed juices made locally called RubyRei, featuring beets, kale, mint and other fruits and vegetables. A few local craft and gift items are also available.
