The McCall-Donnelly School District will auction off a couple of parcels and use the proceeds to build employee housing.
The school district has enlisted Bottles Real Estate Auctions to sell two properties.
The first parcel is 4.8 acres on Mission Street in McCall. The listing calls it “prime multi-family development land.” The listing says the property is zoned for R-8 development and could be rezoned up to R-16. The property, which is appraised at $944,000, sits adjacent to the proposed school district employee housing project.
The second parcel is 10 acres that could be used for industrial or commercial development. The property is in Valley County, a few miles outside of McCall. The property is near the MDSD Bus Barn and is appraised at $400,000.
“The property is perfect for storage, shops, or other industrial/commercial use,” the listing said.
Offers submitted as sealed bids must be sent to MDSD by 3 p.m. on May 31 at the office located at 299 S 3rd Street. There will be a public meeting at the MDSD office following the closing hour where the bids will be opened.
The housing project for district employees would sit near Stibnite Street and N. Mission Street in McCall. There would be a total of 35 units, with 32 of them split across four multifamily buildings, and the remaining three would be in single-family “cottage-type units.”
The McCall Planning and Zoning Commission heard the project earlier in April but delayed a decision while questions surrounding existing power lines are worked out.
The McCall-Donnelly District employee housing decision was moved to the May 2 meeting.
