Chain hotel in McCall wakes up with new name, look

A popular hotel in McCall known for its large wooden bear out front is coming out of the hibernation season with a whole new look.

Out: the Holiday Inn Express. In: The Evergreen Hotel. A news release said the hotel will be updated from a “standard franchise property” to a “modern look” that focuses on nature.

The hotel at 210 N 3rd St. has a pool and jacuzzi, continental breakfast, and a fitness center.  The hotel sits across from the former Pancake House restaurant building, which is now a Natural Grocers grocery store.

“Our goal is to provide a more comfortable and enjoyable up-scale experience for guests when they come to McCall,” Jerame Petry, co-owner of the hotel said. “McCall is a beautiful city, and we wanted The Evergreen Hotel to reflect that natural beauty and comfort.”

The rebrand means that this is now an independent hotel. The logo with evergreen trees and design is meant to be a tribute to the McCall location.

The first and second floors of the hotel have already been remodeled and overhauled. The third floor, conference center, and lobby will be finished by January 2024.
