Tamarack Resort announces upgrades ahead of winter season

Temperatures are dropping, snow is covering Idaho mountain tops, and resorts across the state are preparing for the 2023/24 winter ski season.

Tamarack Resort has announced that the season will be “tentatively scheduled” to open in early December and touted some new features guests can look forward to.

New terrain and lift access

This season skiers will get access to over 60 acres of new open terrain in the area of Reasons to Quit. There are now 1,385 acres of lift-accessible terrain for recreationists to take advantage of.

There is also a new family-friendly zone called Lumberjack Land that will sit off of Waltz Run. Plus newbies can practice at the 5.5-acre learning area near the Discovery chairlift.

Tamarack’s ski-in and ski-out lodging has improved as well, with Buttercup Lift now set to operate on holidays and weekends.

Snowmaking

The resort is upping its snowmaking coverage by 30% with it now touching over 150 aces of named runs. This is done through the new automated snow guns and the one mile of new snowmaking pipe.

Guests will also get a smoother run down from steeper points on the mountain with the new snowcats.

Found in the Lodge at Osprey Meadows, is the new Nordic Center that will have rentals, lessons, and retail. This is part of many upgrades planned for the resort that you can read about on BoiseDev.

Ticket advancements

Skip the line this year with the newly implemented automated ticket/pass kiosk in The Village Plaza. Guests can purchase or reload day tickets here. Also, new this season is multi-day, consecutive-day tickets.

Visitors will also be able to access paid overnight camping in the lower Aspen Parking Lot.

Once Tamarack opens lift operations will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week.
