Donnelly residents will soon have an indoor gym closer to home than the existing gyms in McCall and Cascade.
Marta and Jonathan Frost are converting a 2,500-square-foot space in Roseberry Plaza, located at 454 W. Roseberry Rd., into Donnelly Fitness, which would become the first gym in Donnelly.
“We are aiming to have it opened in March,” Marta Frost told Valley Lookout.
The gym will include men and women’s changing rooms with showers, lockers, and various types of exercise equipment—all with around-the-clock access for members.
A plan review of the proposal was approved this week by the Valley County Building Department.
Fitness classes
A separate room in the gym will be used to host classes, such as Zumba, Pilates, and weight training.
The room could also be used for physical therapy sessions for Donnelly area patients of Cascade Medical Center, which operates an urgent care clinic next door to the gym.
“We have discussed the possibility with the Frosts, but we have not made a decision,” Cascade Medical Center CEO Tom Reinhardt told Valley Lookout. “That is something we need to study further and ultimately bring to the Board of Trustees for a decision.”
No more long commute
The Frosts, who own Frost Property Management in Donnelly, decided to open the gym to eliminate what is at least a 40-minute round trip for Donnelly residents to go to gyms in McCall and Cascade.
“We have heard from many people about how much time it takes to drive to McCall to go to a gym,” Frost said. “Many people gave up going to a gym entirely, because driving to McCall or Cascade every day takes a lot of time, effort and gas.”
Memberships will be offered at $39 per month or $49 per month with classes included. There will also be an initial enrollment fee of $35.
Software is currently being developed to enable online membership enrollments. In the meantime, anyone interested in signing up can call Frost Management at 208-391-3711.

The addition of the gym leaves seven vacant commercial spaces available in Roseberry Plaza, which totals 15,000 square feet of commercial space. Other tenants include Cascadade Medical Center Urgent Care and Ivory’s Donuts and Treats.
