In 2021, Tamarack Resort announced that its master plan would be revamped with goals of expanding and adding new winter and summer offerings for guests.
The resort continues to march forward with this large-scale plan with upgrades coming this season, including 60 acres of new open terrain for skiers, ticket process enhancements, and more snowmaking capabilities.
Now Tamarack has announced that its long-anticipated plans to create a marina on Lake Cascade will move forward after the resort signed a 20-year lease with the Idaho Parks and Recreation Department. The department manages access and facilities on the lake for the United States Bureau of Reclamation.
Construction can commence after the Bureau of Reclamation completes an environmental analysis. The hope is to have the analysis back by early next year.
“We appreciate the hard work, and thoughtful process of the Bureau of Reclamation and the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation to help us bring enhanced facilities and recreation offerings to Lake Cascade,” Tamarack President Scott Turlington said. “As America’s only ski, golf, and lake resort, Tamarack is proud to be developing this world-class marina for boaters and water sports enthusiasts.”
Tamarack’s marina will have 200 boat slips, including dedicated spaces for personal watercraft, boat monitoring facilities, on-water fuel, a rental and retail shop, additional marina parking, sand sports and beach space, food truck parking for Tamarack’s Mountain Bites, and an improved rental fleet of motorized and non-motorized watercraft.
Tamarack plans to open the marina by Memorial Day next year with about 70 slips, fuel stations, beach access, expanded parking, rental and retail, the food truck, and the sand sports area. The Marina at Tamarack Resort will be a public marina. It will have seasonal slips available for rent from Memorial Day to October 1 every year.
