Today is the final day for the public to weigh in on designs for a large mural honoring McCall’s ski culture that will soon adorn a building in the city’s downtown.
The McCall Ski Heritage Foundation is seeking public comments on three designs for a 10-foot by 12-foot mural it has commissioned for the west-facing wall of a building at 302 E. Lake St. that is currently occupied by Sadie Noah Real Estate Group.
The survey asks participants to select their preferred design, as well as a tag line to go along with it. The survey will be open through today. Click here to weigh in on your favorite option.
The mural designs are the work of Idaho artist Odessa Kaufman, a Boise-based artist who owns a company that specializes in murals.
The foundation is funding the $6,000 mural with money from the Perc H. Shelton and Gladys A. Shelton Foundation, said Craig Johnson, a director for the ski heritage foundation. The mural is expected to last about five years.
A four-member committee of ski foundation board members will choose the final design later this month. The mural could be painted on the building as soon as the end of July, Johnson said.
