McCall to hold “educational” meeting on building moratoriums

McCall City Council will hear a presentation on building moratoriums next month

In a Facebook post, the city said the meeting is for “education only”. There is no action item or public testimony on the matter, just a presentation to learn more about how a moratorium works and how it can be used as a tool in a community.

A moratorium like this pauses all building activity within a city. It could be long-term or short-term and can be activated for a variety of reasons

For example, as BoiseDev reported here, Caldwell enacted a six-month residential moratorium in response to what at the time was new property tax legislation.

The public meeting is scheduled for April 7. After BoiseDev asked the city about the possibility of the meeting, it posted notice to the public on its Facebook page.
